Giant outdoor chess for garden use. Chess pieces make an
attactive garden feature and allow participants - from beginners
to expert - to partake in this absorbing game. These sets
are also suitable for pubs, parties and public events. We
particularly like this set because not only is it very well
made and very competitively priced, but unlike the Jaques
set, this chess set can also be used in more exposed areas,
or as a permanent feature, as the pieces can be weighted
easily, by filling them with sand or water. |

The all weather pieces are fully
UV proof and have the potential to last a lifetime. Each
piece is a faithful Staunton-style design and the King
stands 64cm high (25ins), making this one of the largest
sets available. Additional weight can be added easily
to these pieces, giving you the peace of mind that they
will stand upright even in windy conditions.
You may wish to construct your own outdoor chessboard
(eg by painting a chessboard onto the ground, or using
a natural outdoor freature, such as patio slabs), however
we do offer 2 outdoor boards if you prefer an easy, instant
solution. Our standard Roll-Up Chess Board (3m square)
is made from tough pvc, while our Lawn-Friendly model
(2.8m square) is made from plastic tiles with a lattice
to allow air and moisture through to the grass. The tiles
are flexible enough to accomodate any slight undulations
