The Hurlingham set is a superbly
made traditional style croquet set with regulation balls
and hoops/wickets. The only difference between the Association
set and the Hurlingham set is the mallets. They have cylindrical
brass bound heads with an inlaid sighting line. The mallets
have an overall length of 36” and weigh an average of
2lb.12oz. A magnificent croquet set, and one destined
to be passed down the family. George Wood, based in New
Zealand, are the largest manufacturer of croquet equipment
in the southern hemisphere, and are well known in more
serious croquet cirlces - indeed, the official Croquet
Association Set (home of UK croquet) is made by George
